ONE SCHOOL, TWO SECTIONS: AN INTERNATIONAL CURRICULUM AND A FRENCH BILINGUAL PROGRAM
The ACACIA International pre-school of Bangkok Sathorn, like its other nursery and preschool in the Sukhumvit district, offers the choice between a bilingual French-English section and an International- British Curriculum Section offering additional languages such as Chinese or Japanese.
The Educational Administration of ACACIA has always ensured that students in the Bilingual French-English Section receive an education by the principles, objectives, and kindergarten curriculum of the French Ministry of National Education while also taking into account the uniqueness of the British Curriculum for the International Section.
CLASSES are divided into Four Sections.
From Nursery to Year 1, our students are divided into 4 age groups:
- Explorers section is for children from 2 to 3 years old
- Adventurers section is for children from 3 to 4 years old
- Travelers section is for children from 4 to 5 years old
- Globetrotters section is for children from 5 to 6 years old
OUR PROGRAMS
Our programs were developed by National Education teaching practitioners for the French section and specialists in British early childhood education (Early Years Foundation Stage) for the English section.
They revolve around the following major areas of learning:
· Mobilize language in all its forms (oral and written)
· Act, express, and comprehend through physical activity
· Act, express oneself and understand through artistic activities
· Get your hands on the first mathematical tools
· Explore the world
THE MAIN PRINCIPLES OF OUR MULTILINGUAL METHOD
The development of multilingualism in the French, English, and Thai languages is the primary goal of our bilingual section’s educational initiative.
This prompted us to establish the following guidelines:
1. Alternating time slots in French, English, and Thai
Our students, across all sections, switch daily between learning French with a French-speaking teacher, English with an English-speaking teacher, and Thai with a Thai teacher.
2. One Instructor, one language
Each child has two teachers who work in pairs, a French-speaking teacher and a native English-speaking teacher, so that a child associates a language distinct to each adult around him and that the acquisition of languages is thus done in tandem and without confusion. Each week, a third Thai teacher participates in the class.
3. Themes are addressed in parallel in the three languages.
Each month, the same theme (broken down into weekly sub-themes) is covered in French, English, and Thai for each of the four divisions. As a result, the child’s vocabulary in all three languages can grow and he can gradually learn about many parts of the world around him.
All students in the International Section are taught in English according to a program based on the British curriculum, more specifically on the recommendations of the British framework for Early Childhood (the Early Years Foundation Stage, or EYFS). Our UK Curriculum is combined with a Montessori philosophy that promotes play-based learning, which delivers better outcomes for your children. As a result, your children will gain knowledge and experience from Montessori educational resources while also having the chance to learn Chinese or Japanese as a Third Language each afternoon, expanding their horizons and preparing them to become the next generation of multilingual future leaders.

OUR PROGRAMS
Our programs combine the objectives of the British Early Years Foundation and the great precepts of the Montessori method.
Our methodology, with its roots in the Montessori Philosophy in the Early Years, is based on a unique educational offer underpinned by a strong focus on developing independence that focuses on the ability and uniqueness of each student to choose their pathway with confidence.
The areas that we develop during this phase include:
Building solid foundations in phonics and fine motor skills, taking the first steps towards reading and writing.
Developing basic social and emotional skills, which will be essential for their overall development.
English immersion from an early age is reflected in greater fluency in literacy in Year 1.
Personalized attention in multilevel classes by qualified teachers who give specific work to each student
Educational resources cover different fundamental areas of children’s education.
