BANGKOK SUKHUMVIT

In 2013, the vibrant landscape of Bangkok welcomed the inception of ACACIA Bangkok Sukhumvit. Today, it stands as a beacon of ACACIA’s global outreach, serving as a leading international school. Our institution prides itself on its modern facilities designed to ensure the safety of our students while providing them with the best possible learning environments.

PIONEERING THE ACACIA NETWORK: WHERE DIVERSE LEARNING THRIVES

At ACACIA Sukhumvit International Nursery & Preschool, families can choose between a Bilingual English-French section and an International Section following the British Curriculum, supplemented with additional languages such as Mandarin

Bilingual English-French Section: Our immersive bilingual environment ensures that children effortlessly acquire proficiency in both English and French. Our dedicated facilities include classrooms specifically designed for storytelling, visual arts, and performing arts, all conducted in both languages.

International British Section: While our curriculum aligns with the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), our teaching philosophy draws inspiration from the principles of Maria Montessori, emphasizing learning through play, inquiry, and exploration.

In 2023, ACACIA Sukhumvit Preschool was awarded AEFE accreditation, offering families access to school scholarships and guaranteeing our students seamless continuation of their education at LFIB or any other school in France.

Our approach is tailored to enable students to progress at their own pace, nurturing a lifelong thirst for knowledge. Inspired by the Montessori Method, which aptly stated, “The hands are the instruments of man’s intelligence,” our educational strategy is built upon this foundation, empowering students to thrive and excel.

ONE SCHOOL, TWO SECTIONS: AN INTERNATIONAL CURRICULUM AND A FRENCH BILINGUAL PROGRAM

The ACACIA Sukhumvit International Nursery & Preschool, like its counterpart in the Sathorn district, offers the choice between a bilingual French-English section and an International – British Curriculum Section offering additional languages such as Chinese or Japanese.

“The Educational Administration at ACACIA is dedicated to providing students in the Bilingual French-English Section with an education aligned with the principles, objectives, and kindergarten curriculum of the French Ministry of National Education.
Simultaneously, we carefully integrate the distinctive features of the British Curriculum into our International Section, ensuring a comprehensive and enriching educational experience for all students.

Our programs are designed by experienced educators from the French National Education system for the French section, and by specialists in British early childhood education (Early Years Foundation Stage) for the English section.

These programs are designed to encompass the following key areas of learning:

  • Development of language skills in both oral and written forms
  • Engagement, expression, and comprehension through physical activities
  • Expression, comprehension, and exploration through artistic endeavors
  • Introduction to fundamental mathematical concepts
  • Exploration and understanding of the world around us”

THE MAIN PRINCIPLES OF OUR MULTILINGUAL METHOD

From Nursery to Year 1, our students are divided into 4 age groups:

  • Explorers section is for children from 18 months to 3 years old
  • Adventurers section is for children from 3 to 4 years old
  • Travelers section is for children from 4 to 5 years old
  • Globetrotters section is for children from 5 to 6 years old

Our Bilingual Section: Fostering Multilingualism
At our school, fostering multilingualism in French, English, and Thai is central to our bilingual section’s educational vision. To achieve this, we have implemented the following strategies:
Alternating Language Schedule: Students engage in daily rotations, switching between French, English, and Thai sessions. Each day, they have dedicated time slots with a French-speaking teacher, an English-speaking teacher, and a Thai teacher.
One Instructor, One Language: To facilitate language acquisition without confusion, each child is paired with two teachers: a French-speaking instructor and a native English-speaking instructor. This ensures that children associate each language with a distinct adult presence. Additionally, a Thai teacher joins the class weekly to further enhance language exposure.
Parallel Theme Exploration: Themes are explored concurrently in French, English, and Thai throughout the month. These themes, broken down into weekly sub-themes, provide comprehensive exposure to vocabulary and cultural concepts in all three languages, enriching the child’s understanding of the world around them.

Through these strategies, we cultivate a rich multilingual environment where children can thrive and expand their linguistic and cultural horizons.

All students in the International Section are taught in English according to a program based on the British curriculum, more specifically on the recommendations of the British framework for Early Childhood (the Early Years Foundation Stage, or EYFS). Our UK Curriculum is combined with a Montessori philosophy that promotes play-based learning, which delivers better outcomes for your children. As a result, your children will gain knowledge and experience from Montessori educational resources while also having the chance to learn Chinese or Japanese as a Third Language each afternoon, expanding their horizons and preparing them to become the next generation of multilingual future leaders.
