ACACIA PHNOM PENH

A FRENCH KINDERGARTEN IN PHNOM PENH

Phnom Penh International Nursery & Preschool is a wonderful spacious environment school, located in a peaceful sector in the city center. It was the first French school in the Cambodian capital during its restoration in 1991.

The school, formerly known as Tchou-Tchou, merged with ACACIA in 2020. Those two institutions came together in a closer relationship as a result of their shared educational philosophy, which focused on using games and language acquisition.
ACACIA Phnom Penh is the only French-speaking International school in Phnom Penh. The school accepts students from pre-school to grade 2 in its green atmosphere. The teachers and assistants all speak French and English and strive to maintain good contact with parents.

LOCATED IN THE HEART OF PHNOM PENH

The ACACIA Phnom Penh French International School is in the center of the city, about two minutes from the Independence Monument. Parents who arrive in a car or ride a motorcycle can simply park in front of the school due to its accessibility. Ther is also a Security guard at the entry to assist you if needed.

A “CITY” SCHOOL SURROUNDED BY GREENERY AND PLUS SPACES

Acacia Phnom Penh International Nursery & Preschool is housed in two sizable, two-story structures that are surrounded by greenery.
There the children can play in a variety of areas outside, including a covered section for motor skills, a courtyard area with slides and a sandbox.
The nursery typically use a fourth play area and there is also a veggie garden. Since the canteen has its facilities, meals and delicious pastries can be prepared on-site.

STIMULATE CREATIVITY AND IMAGINATION

ACACIA provides its students with a creative learning environment focused on play and manipulation. That sparks creativity and imagination to make sure they advance at their own pace and foster a lifelong desire to learn. The Montessori Method, which claimed that “The hands are the instruments of man’s intelligence,” served as the foundation for this educational strategy.

A PROJECT ROOTED ON MULTILINGUALISM AND SELF-ESTEEM

ACACIA Phnom Penh nursery and kindergarten emphasizes language at the center of instruction.
Additionally, the ACACIA model’s flexibility gives its teaching staff the ability to customize the curriculum to meet the requirements of their students. The instructors make sure that your kids follow the Acacia program cheerfully and develop a true desire to learn with an open mind with whichever materials they feel are most appropriate.

The Educational Administration of ACACIA has always ensured that students in the Bilingual French-English Section receive an education by the principles, objectives, and kindergarten curriculum of the French Ministry of National Education. Of course we also take into account the uniqueness of the British Curriculum for the International Section.

CLASSES are divided into six sections

Our students are divided into 4 age groups from Nursery to Kindergarten :

  • The Explorers section for children from 18 months to 3 years old
  • The Adventurers section is for children from 3 to 4 years old (Petite Section or K1)
  • The Travelers section is for children from 4 to 5 years old (Moyenne Section or K2).
  • The Globetrotters section is for children from 5 to 6 years old (Grand Section or K3).

OUR PROGRAMS

THE MAIN PRINCIPLES OF OUR MULTILINGUAL METHOD

The development of multilingualism in the French, English, and Vietnamese languages is the primary goal of our bilingual section’s educational initiative.

1. Alternating time slots in French, English, and Khmer
Our students, across all sections, switch daily between learning French with a French-speaking teacher, English with an English-speaking teacher, and Khmer with a Khmer teacher.

2. One Instructor, one language
Each child has two teachers who work in Pairs, a French-speaking teacher and a native English-speaking teacher. thus, the child associates a language distinct to each adult around him  and help himaquire languages in tandem and without confusion. Each week, a third Khmer teacher participates in the class.

3. Themes are addressed in parallel in the three languages.
Each month, the same theme (broken down into weekly sub-themes) is covered in French, English, and Khmer for each of the four divisions. As a result, the child’s vocabulary in all three languages can grow and he can gradually learn about many parts of the world around him.

Do not hesitate to get in contact with us if you have any questions concerning our French-English language section.
